Best Office Coffee Machine: Bean-to-Cup Picks for 2026

Best Office Coffee Machine: Bean-to-Cup Picks for 2026

These are the best office coffee machines for 2026 that grind whole beans for every cup, the kind sold as bean-to-cup or super-automatic machines. The page is for whoever has been asked to choose one, whether the office has eight regular coffee drinkers or eighty. It matches each machine to how many drinks an office makes in a day, then covers the daily work a machine creates, refilling the water and cleaning the milk system, and how Jura's warranties count drinks as well as years.

The short answer:

  • Choose the Jura X10 for most offices: it has room to spare over the drinks a typical office makes, it can be connected to a water line, and it pours two milk drinks at a time for the morning queue.
  • Choose the Jura S8 for a small team with one person willing to look after it.
  • Choose the Jura GIGA 10 when a smaller office wants regular and decaf ready at one tap.
  • Choose the Jura GIGA X8 for an office that makes more drinks than the X10 is rated for, or wants two coffees at that volume.

The X10 and GIGA X8 can run on a water line, and the S8 and GIGA 10 run from a tank

Every pick is a Jura, because Jura sells a professional range rated by drinks per day and office owners report Juras running for four to five years. The X10 and GIGA X8 come from that range and accept Jura's water-line kit. The home machines, the S8 and GIGA 10, run from a tank that someone refills by hand and carry a warranty that counts drinks. The table sets out the differences that matter in an office.

Best overall: Jura X10

The X10 suits most offices because it is rated for 100 drinks a day, well above what most offices make, and owners at four offices report it running well. One who connected it to a water line wrote "No regrets. This thing rocks", and a company that put X10s with small milk fridges into a new office says the machine is everyone's favourite thing about the office so far. Of the machines that take the water-line kit, the X10 costs about half as much as the GIGA X8.

The X10 reports cover months of use. For years of office records, see the GIGA X8. One owner calls the X10's espresso decent and average for a coffee lover and easy for everyone else to use.

Best for a small office: Jura S8

Two offices report an S8 lasting four to five years, one of them at about 20 drinks a workday. That office's S8 made about 25,000 drinks and needed a new grinder after four years, and the second office replaced only the grinder in five. At the first office, one person keeps the machine running. He took the job because he has a Jura at home, and he notes that some coworkers find the machine too complicated and skip it.

The S8 is a home machine, so its warranty ends at 6,000 drinks if that comes before two years. An office making 20 drinks each workday reaches that in about 14 months. If your office makes closer to 50 drinks a day, the Jura W8 is rated for that load and the X10 for 100.

Best for decaf in a small office: Jura GIGA 10

The GIGA 10 is the smaller of the two Juras here that keep two coffees loaded, so an office can offer decaf all day from the second bean container. One company chose it for a floor of about 20 people, about ten of them regular coffee drinkers, so that the team and visitors who avoid caffeine always have decaf. Jura advised the GIGA 10 over a commercial machine for that team. In a later post, the owner puts the team at about 25 people making about 60 drinks a day. The owner reports early trouble with the milk froth, says everyone loves the machine now, and keeps a wide bowl under the spout because the rinse cycles fill the drip tray during a busy day.

The tank and the drip tray set the pace of the GIGA 10's upkeep. A two-year owner counts 8 to 10 small drinks between refilling the water and emptying the waste, so the machine works best near a sink. For two coffees at heavier use, the GIGA X8 holds more and connects to a water line. Our Jura GIGA 10 review covers its drink sizes, milk temperature and early faults in detail.

Best for a large office: Jura GIGA X8

Three offices have run a GIGA X8 for two and a half to five years. An office of 50 to 70 people made almost 27,000 drinks on one in about three years, with a single repair under warranty in the first year. A second office of about 50 has run one for two and a half years with no problems, and a team of 12 to 15 replaced theirs with the updated model after four to five years, with a technician visiting once a year. The three offices run their machines on a water line. The GIGA X8 costs about twice as much as the X10, so it is the pick when an office needs more than the X10's rated 100 drinks a day, or two coffees at that volume.

One owner calls the GIGA X8's espresso "pretty meh, but it is consistent and still better than most other office coffee options", and another found the espresso a little sour until his office lowered the brew temperature.

The Jura W8 sits between the S8 and the X10 for offices that refill a tank by hand

The Jura W8 is the smallest machine in Jura's professional range. It is rated for up to 50 drinks a day, holds 3 L of water and 500 g of beans, and carries the professional one-year warranty with no drink count. It suits an office that has outgrown a home machine's tank and has no water line nearby. The W8 runs from its tank, because Jura's water-line kit is made for the X10 and the GIGA X8.

Size the machine by drinks per day, which is often fewer than one per person

Headcount overstates what most offices drink. An office of 50 to 70 people averaged about 35 drinks each workday over three years, and an office of 15 makes about a dozen. The opposite also happens: a team of 8 to 10 on a Jura WE8, a smaller office machine from Jura, made about 4,000 drinks in a little over six months, roughly three per person each workday. Count drinks for a week before you buy, then choose a machine whose rating sits well above that number. The morning rush matters as much as the daily total. An office of 35 sharing one home machine reports a queue on many mornings, and one owner suggests two machines for that reason, which also keeps coffee going while one is away for repair.

A water line on the X10 or GIGA X8 ends refilling the tank by hand

The four office owners who report on a water line all describe it as worth doing, and one called it "key for an office where nobody will want to fill the water tank". Jura's water-line kit, installed by a plumber, fills the tank automatically and fits the X10 and the GIGA X8. The GIGA X8 also needs a replacement tank with a cut-out for the connection. The S8, GIGA 10 and W8 run from their tanks. On a tank machine, emptying the grounds bin and drip tray is as much work as filling the tank. One office owner counts 14 to 16 drinks before a home Jura's grounds bin needs emptying.

Milk drinks work in an office when the milk stays cold and one person cleans the system daily

Milk causes more office complaints than anything else. Owners at five offices describe milk left out overnight or milk systems left uncleaned, including a water-line machine "full of curdled milk on a Monday morning". Four offices stopped using the machine's milk system, and one of them now keeps milk in the fridge for people to add themselves. Four offices that report milk working well keep a 3 to 4 L jug in a small fridge beside the machine, and in three offices named people do the daily cleaning. Jura puts that cleaning at about two minutes, and sells matching Cool Control milk fridges for these machines as separate accessories.

A home Jura's warranty ends at 6,000 drinks, and a professional Jura's runs one year

Jura covers home machines such as the S8 and GIGA 10 for two years or 6,000 drinks, whichever comes first. An office making 20 drinks each workday reaches 6,000 drinks in about 14 months, so the warranty ends there. At 10 drinks a workday, the two-year limit comes first. Professional machines such as the X10, W8 and GIGA X8 carry one year of cover with no drink count. In Canada, the owner pays shipping both ways for a warranty repair, and Jura runs service centres in Mississauga, the Vancouver area and Montréal. Faema, Jura's Canadian distributor, offers on-site service for the GIGA X8. One office that has run a GIGA X8 for four to five years has a technician visit once a year.

This list covers bean-to-cup machines because whole beans cost less per cup and use less packaging than pods

Pod machines such as Nespresso Professional and Keurig are a common office choice: they are quick, and each cup is consistent. This page leaves them out for two reasons, cost and packaging.

A pod costs more per cup than the same drink made from whole beans. One cup matters little, but an office makes dozens of drinks a day, every working day, and the gap grows to hundreds or thousands of dollars a year. Our office coffee cost calculator works it out for your office: choose your current setup, your team size and how many cups people drink, and it compares a year of pods with a bean-to-cup machine, including what the machine costs and when it pays for itself.

Every pod is a single-use capsule, so an office that makes 40 drinks a day goes through about 40 capsules a day, which then go into a recycling program or the bin. Whole beans come in a bag, and one 1 kg bag makes about 100 cups.

For a side-by-side look at each system on cost per cup and taste, see Nespresso Pro vs bean-to-cup, Keurig vs bean-to-cup for the office and Nespresso pods vs coffee beans: the cost per cup. If your office brews drip coffee today, office drip coffee vs bean-to-cup covers that step. The beans decide how the office coffee tastes

Every machine on this page grinds the beans seconds before brewing, so the cup tastes of how fresh the beans were when you bought them. Two owners who call their office espresso average blame cheap bulk beans. One long-term owner finds that medium and medium-dark roasts brew best in these machines. An office S8 owner advises against very oily or flavoured beans at office volume. Stillwater Coffee Club ships whole-bean coffee from independent Canadian roasters every month, chosen to match the flavours you pick in the coffee quiz.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best coffee machine for an office?

For most offices, the Jura X10 is the best coffee machine, because office owners report it running well, it is rated for up to 100 drinks a day, and it can be connected to a water line. A small team can use the Jura S8, and a large office the Jura GIGA X8.

How many cups a day can a Jura make?

Jura rates its professional machines by daily output: the W8 for up to 50 drinks, the X10 for up to 100 and the GIGA X8 for up to 200. Home models such as the S8 and GIGA 10 carry a warranty limit of 6,000 drinks instead of a daily rating.

Can a Jura coffee machine be connected to a water line?

The X10 and GIGA X8 can, with Jura's water-line kit installed by a plumber, and the GIGA X8 also needs a replacement tank. Jura's home machines and the W8 run from their water tanks.

Is a home bean-to-cup machine good enough for an office?

For an office making about 20 drinks a workday, yes, if one person looks after it. Two offices report a Jura S8 lasting four to five years. Above that, a home machine's tank and drip tray need emptying several times a day, and its 6,000-drink warranty can end in about a year.
