About the Coffee
Glitter Juice is Bright Jenny's house espresso blend, built to work as both a standalone shot and as the base of milk-based drinks. Blending coffees for espresso takes more than picking two origins that taste good on their own. The goal is consistency across variables like grind size, water temperature, and milk ratio, so the coffee behaves predictably whether you're pulling shots on a home machine or a commercial setup.
The name and the approach are both deliberate. Glitter Juice is designed to be reliable without being boring, which is a harder target to hit than it sounds in espresso. Most house blends err toward safety and end up flat. This one holds a brighter profile without sacrificing the body that makes espresso work in a latte or cappuccino.
About Bright Jenny
Bright Jenny is a Vancouver-based roaster with roots in the city's cafe scene. They roast and serve their own coffee, with a focus on keeping their espresso program consistent and their single origins rotating based on what's good at any given time.
The sourcing approach leans toward coffees with clear, identifiable character rather than safe, neutral profiles. Glitter Juice reflects that thinking applied to a blend built for daily use.
"Bright Jenny is another roaster we love for how seriously they take their craft without taking themselves too seriously. The result: a panel of excellently roasted and delicious coffees that fit a broad set of tastes. The owner (Dave Upshaw) himself considers their dark roast, Smoke & Mirrors, among his favourites, to which Dave says: "yes, coffee nerds are allowed to like dark roasts.""
