About the Coffee

The Vintage is Eclipse's house espresso blend, the coffee they've been pulling in their cafes since the beginning. It's built for milk-based drinks, dialed in to hold up under steamed milk without disappearing, but it also works well as a straight filter coffee if you want something on the bolder side.

Eclipse rests the Vintage around 10 days after roasting before recommending you brew it. That's a practical tip that makes a real difference with espresso: freshly roasted coffee releases CO2 quickly, which makes extraction unpredictable. Letting it settle means you get a more consistent result in the cup. The blend is roasted to order, so what arrives hasn't been sitting on a warehouse shelf.

Long-time customers have been ordering this one for years, and the consistency is what keeps them coming back. That kind of reliability in a blend takes ongoing attention to how the components are sourced and roasted together, not just a single good batch.

About Eclipse

Eclipse Coffee Roasters was founded in 2014 in Canmore, Alberta. Their starting point was sourcing good green coffee and roasting it to reflect what's naturally in the bean, from lighter African coffees to bolder blends like the Vintage. They keep 10 to 15 coffees in rotation at any given time.

On the sourcing side, each coffee goes through an independent screening process to check that it's grown in an environmentally and socially responsible way. Eclipse pays above market price to farms they work with and shares those sourcing details publicly on their product pages. Their roasting work has also been recognized in competitions across North America.
