About the Coffee

Homebody is a blend of two coffees: a washed Ethiopian from the Limmu region and a natural-processed Brazilian from Santa Lucia farm. Limmu sits in western Ethiopia at elevations around 1,700 to 2,000 meters, where smallholder farmers deliver their cherries to centralized washing stations for processing. Brazil's Santa Lucia is a single estate known for natural processing, where coffee cherries are dried whole in the sun before milling.

The washed process used for the Ethiopian component involves removing the fruit skin before fermentation and drying, which produces a cleaner, more consistent cup. The natural process on the Brazilian side means the fruit dries around the bean, which typically adds body and sweetness to the final cup. Blending the two is a straightforward approach to balancing brightness from Ethiopia with weight and roundness from Brazil.

Rosso describes this as their house blend, roasted to a medium level and suited for any brewing method, from espresso to drip. The low acidity rating and higher body score reflect the intentional balance of the two origins.
