Nariño Reserve

About the Coffee

Nariño Reserve comes from smallholder farmers in southwestern Colombia, many from indigenous communities, growing Castillo between 2000 and 2200 meters. At this elevation, cherries mature slowly in cooler temperatures, giving the coffee more time to build sugars before harvest.

The cherries are processed using the washed method, where the fruit is removed before fermentation and drying. This produces a cleaner cup and lets the underlying character of the Castillo variety come through. The lot is a combination of harvests from various small producers rather than a single farm, brought together through shared harvesting and processing practices across the region.

About Somewhere Coffee

Somewhere Coffee started after its founders began asking basic questions about their coffee: where it came from, why one cup tasted different from the next. That curiosity led them to start a small roastery in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

They source coffee through importers who build long-term relationships with producers, aiming to get as close as possible to the story behind each lot. Every coffee starts as a series of sample roasts, cupped and adjusted before moving into production, with the roast profile built around what makes that particular lot distinct rather than a house style applied across the board.
