Terra Kaffe vs Jura: TK-02 vs E6 on Drip, Milk and Service (2026)
This Terra Kaffe vs Jura comparison sets the Terra Kaffe TK-02 against the Jura E6, the Jura closest to it in price and size. It is for anyone choosing a bean-to-cup machine, also called a super-automatic, that grinds, brews and adds milk at the press of a button. The two differ most in the coffee each brews best, how hot the milk drinks come out, how much water handling they ask of you, and where you can buy and service them. Each section below covers one of those differences.

The TK-02 makes a latte or cappuccino at one tap, and the E6 asks you to turn its milk switch for each cappuccino
Both machines draw cold milk through a thin tube, heat it with steam and froth it on the way into the cup. The TK-02 comes with a 590 ml milk carafe. A knob on the side of the machine sets whether the milk comes out frothed or just hot, and that setting stays until you change it, so a latte or cappuccino is one tap on the touchscreen. Terra Kaffe's app lets you change the amount of milk and build your own drinks.
The E6 tube goes into any jug or carton of milk, and Jura sells a glass milk container as an extra. The E6's milk drinks are the cappuccino, the espresso macchiato (an espresso topped with a spoonful of foam) and a portion of milk foam. After you press the cappuccino button, the screen asks you to turn a switch on the spout. The foam flows, and the screen then asks you to turn the switch back. The E6 makes one style of foam, so owners who want a latte add a portion of foam to a coffee or froth the milk separately. At the end of any day you make milk drinks, the E6 asks you to run a milk clean with Jura's cleaner, which takes about two minutes, and three owners find that a chore. About five owners use a separate frother or the microwave instead.

Many TK-02 owners find its milk drinks warm rather than hot
Drink temperature is the complaint TK-02 owners raise most. About 27 owners on Reddit and about 26 reviewers on Terra Kaffe's own site say their lattes and cappuccinos come out warm. Owners who measured them found 43 to 60°C (110 to 140°F). Firmware updates raised the temperature for some owners, and Terra Kaffe's support has suggested warming the milk first. About five owners find the drinks hot enough. Two owners who moved between the TK-02 and a Jura say the Jura's milk foam came out hotter, though three owners of the current E6 also wish their drinks were hotter. If you mostly drink black coffee or espresso, this matters much less.
The TK-02 brews drip coffee like a filter machine, and the E6 makes long coffee through its espresso unit
The TK-02's brew unit switches between espresso and a drip setting, which runs water slowly through a coarser grind the way a filter coffee maker does. Terra Kaffe lists a drip setting for a 28 oz carafe. Owners report that one drip brew gives about 15 to 16 oz since a software update. The spout lifts to 14 cm, high enough for a tall mug. The drip mode is the TK-02 feature owners praise most often: about 12 owners on Reddit and about 35 reviewers on Terra Kaffe's site. One owner who moved from an older Jura to the TK-02 found the Jura's long coffee tasted like a bitter Americano, while the TK-02 "makes real drip". About five owners find the drip coffee weaker than they wanted.
The E6 makes a long coffee by pushing more water through its espresso brew unit, or by brewing a shorter coffee and adding hot water, which Jura calls a Caffè Barista or Lungo Barista. The coffee spout rises to 11.1 cm, and two owners find that too low for a tall mug or a travel cup.
The TK-02 has a phone app built in, and the E6 connects to Jura's app through an adapter
The TK-02 connects to Wi-Fi and pairs with Terra Kaffe's app. Owners use the app most to schedule a drink for when they wake up, and also to start a drink from bed, build custom drinks and receive software updates. The machine works fully from its touchscreen, and Wi-Fi can be switched off in the settings. About nine owners report app disconnections or login trouble, including a period in September 2026 when Terra Kaffe moved the app to a new system.
The E6 works from its 2.8-inch screen and six buttons. Jura's app, J.O.E., can order drinks and change settings once you plug Jura's WiFi Connect adapter into a socket on the machine. The adapter is an extra purchase, and E6 owners rarely mention using it.
The TK-02 rinses itself at every start, sleep and wake, so its drip tray fills and its tank empties faster than the E6's
A bean-to-cup machine rinses its spout with hot water to keep coffee oils from building up. The TK-02 rinses when you switch it on and each time it goes to sleep or wakes up, and two owners who measured it collected 325 to 355 ml of rinse water across one start and one shut-down. Half of that lands in the drip tray. About 30 owners on Reddit and about 25 on Terra Kaffe's site say they empty the tray and refill the tank more often than they expected. Owners keep a mug under the spout and set a scheduled morning drink, which skips the rinse before brewing.
The E6 rinses when you switch it on, and again when you switch it off only if you made a coffee. Three E6 owners mention emptying water from the tray each day, against about 30 TK-02 owners, because the E6 rinses less often.
The TK-02 and E6 brew mild espresso at factory settings, and E6 owners get stronger shots by grinding finer
Owners of both machines say the factory settings make a mild espresso. On the E6, about 18 owners describe weak or watery shots, and most fixed them with settings. The fix owners use is a finer grind, the strongest of the 10 strength settings and a smaller cup: one owner settled on 35 ml at full strength on the second-finest grind. The E6 can grind up to 16 g of coffee for one shot. The TK-02's finest grind setting is coarser than many owners want, so they raise the dose of coffee, lower the water and make doubles in the app. About nine still find the espresso weak.
Owners who moved from the TK-02 to a Jura most often say the Jura's espresso is stronger and hotter, though most of them bought a costlier Jura such as the Z10 or J8. A former Jura owner who moved to the TK-02 rated its drinks at about 80% as good as a Jura's, and still recommended the E6 over it. Terra Kaffe repairs the TK-02 by mail, and Jura services the E6 through regional service centres
The TK-02 reached buyers in December 2023, so the longest-owned machines are under three years old. About eight owners on Reddit report two years of use, and one reports 6,000 drinks with no faults. About 30 of roughly 140 TK-02 owners on Reddit report a fault. The most common are machines faulty on arrival (about eight), leaks (about five), the milk pickup failing (four) and, in 2026, three screens that failed just after the two-year warranty ended. Terra Kaffe starts with troubleshooting by chat, email or video, then sends a prepaid label and pays the shipping both ways for a warranty repair. About ten owners report quick, helpful replies. About ten others report repairs that took weeks, and some received a refurbished machine in place of their own. The TK-02 comes with a trial of 30 days or 150 brews. A return costs a US$55 restocking fee, plus US$40 if you have discarded the original box (as of October 2026).
The owner reports below include earlier E6 versions, sold for several years before the current 2022 model. About 30 of roughly 85 E6 owners on Reddit report a fault, and many cleared it themselves. The repeat fault is the small motor that opens the valve draining used water into the drip tray, which breaks loose from its mounts at about 18 months (about five owners). Grounds also build up around the brew unit, the part that presses and brews the coffee, for about nine owners, and most cleared them by wiping the area above the grounds bin. Jura covers the E6 for two years or 6,000 cups. In Canada, Jura's service centres are in Mississauga, Burnaby and Montreal, and the owner pays the shipping for a warranty repair. In the United States, Jura pays the shipping both ways.
Terra Kaffe sells, ships and services the TK-02 in the United States only
Terra Kaffe ships to addresses in the United States, and its warranty covers machines used in the 50 states. Every one of its approved resellers is an American store, and Terra Kaffe's terms say that taking a machine out of the country ends the warranty. One TK-01 owner, on the first-generation machine, lost his warranty after moving to Canada. So for a Canadian buyer, the E6 is the practical choice of the two, and Jura's Canadian distributor stands behind it. If you would like a Canadian-sold machine with more one-touch milk drinks, our De'Longhi Rivelia vs Philips 5500 vs Eletta Explore comparison covers three at a similar level.
Best bean-to-cup for drip coffee: Terra Kaffe TK-02
The TK-02 suits an American household that drinks drip coffee in the morning and the odd espresso later, and likes having the first cup ready on a schedule. Owners who drink mostly milk drinks and like them hot are the group most likely to send it back, so use the trial for exactly those drinks. If espresso and cappuccino are your main drinks, the E6 suits you better.
Best bean-to-cup for espresso: Jura E6
The E6 suits someone who drinks espresso, cappuccino and long black coffee, and wants a machine that asks for less water handling through the day. The E6's milk drinks need a turn of the spout switch, and the E6 makes one style of foam, so a latte drinker should look at the De'Longhi machines linked above, which make a latte at one touch. In Canada, the E6 is the one of these two you can buy and have serviced locally.
